Group 17- Halogens

This group contains very reactive nonmetals. This is because their atoms need to gain one electron to have a complete outer level. The atoms in this group combine readily with other atoms to gain the missing electron. This group has 5 nonmetals, which are: Fluorine, Chlorine, Bromine, Iodine, and Astatine,
