Waves

Waves
A wave is a any interruption that occurs when energy transmits through matter or an empty space. There are many different types of waves, like ones that need to pass through mediums, or a substance a wave can pass through, for example, mechanical waves. An example of mechanical waves are ocean waves.

Another type of wave is a transverse wave, which is a wave that the medium moves at right angles, across from the direction it's traveling in. an example of a transverse wave is a rope. The highest point of the transverse wave is a crest, and the lowest point of it is called a trough. Crests are at the top, and troughs are at the bottom

Another type of wave is a longitudinal, or particles that vibrate at the rhythm of the wave. An example of a longitudinal wave is a spring, and sound waves. When the particles of the longitudinal wave crowd by each other is called a compression. And when the particles are spread a far distance away from each other is called a rarefaction
