Chapter 1 section 1

I learned a lot more stuff about cells. I’ve learned who first describe cells, how to calculate the surface area to volume ratio, the two basic kinds of cells. I also know what prokaryotes means and eukaryote. Lastly, I learned that humans are eukaryotes.

Chapter 1 section 2

In section 2, I learned a lot more stuff. I learned what the function of that wall is, facts about the cell membrane, all about that cytoskeleton, more stuff about the nucleus, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, and the mitochondria. I also learned about the functions for golgi complex, cell compartments, and the lysosomes.

Chapter 1 section 3

In section 3, it talked about us being a multi-cellular organism. It also talked about tissue, organ, organ system, organism, structure, and function.  A tissue is a group of cells that work together to perform a specific job. An organ is  a structure that is made up of two or more tissues working together to perform specific function. An organ system is a group of organs working together to perform a particular function. An organism is made up of a single cell that is called unicellular organism. Structure is the arrangement of parts in an organism. Lastly, a function is the job that part does.
